This is a simple progression based around the first four chords shown above.

When you play the E on the 5th string (3rd fret) and the B on the 6th string
(3rd fret) there is the hint of a pause before you play the three notes that
follow each time on the 2nd and 3rd strings.

This is played for the intro, the first verse, as an interlude between first
chorus and second verse and you could also play it for the second verse (you

It's then played for the whole of the third verse, as an interlude between the
third chorus and outro and then for the outro itself.

If you wanted to add a little something extra to this melody line, you could
add in the three decending notes played by the fiddle, mandolin and dobro...
